Article 267
Nepali Army Provisions
: (1) There shall be an inclusive Nepali Army organization committed to this constitution for the protection of the independence, sovereignty, geographical integrity, independence and national unity of Nepal.
(2) The President shall be the Commander-in-Chief of the Nepali Army.
(3) The entry of women, Dalits, tribals, indigenous tribes, Khas Arya, Madheshi, Tharu, Muslims, backward classes and citizens of backward areas into the Nepali Army will be ensured in accordance with the federal law based on the principle of equality and inclusiveness.
(4) The Government of Nepal may deploy the Nepali Army in other activities including development, construction and disaster management in accordance with the federal law.
(5) The President shall appoint and dismiss the Commander-in-Chief on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers (6) If there is a serious crisis in the sovereignty, geographical integrity or security of any part of Nepal due to war, external attack, armed insurrection or extreme economic disruption, the President will announce the mobilization of the Nepali Army in accordance with the decision of the Government of Nepal, the Council of Ministers on the recommendation of the National Security Council. It should be approved by the House of Representatives within one month from the date of the announcement of the deployment of the Nepali Army.
(7) Other arrangements related to the Nepali Army shall be in accordance with the law.
